David G. Roach & Sons is seeking an entry level or experienced Asst. Project Manager in our Barre Office. Competitive pay, benefits and ability to participate in a growing heavy civil construction company.
Job purpose
Plan and manage construction projects from estimate to project completion, ensuring that projects are completed in a timely, efficient and profitable manner.
Duties and responsibilities
Read and understand project drawings and specifications to develop estimates for project bidding
Submit project bids and attend bid openings
Negotiate contracts with material suppliers and subcontractors to reach agreements that meet project requirements
Develop project schedules for construction projects
Prepare for and attend construction progress meetings with project Owner and/or Engineer
Create project submittals and manage submittal process to meet project requirements
Regularly meet with construction Site Superintendent (often on site) to review project progress and assist in planning future activities
Track daily field work in company tracking software and monitor project progress. Provide feedback to Site Superintendents and Company Management
Qualifications
Requirements:
BS in Engineering, Construction Management or related field
Working knowledge of MS Office
Working knowledge of MS Project or similar scheduling software
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Team player
Self-motivated
Construction experience
Not required, but will be an advantage:
Experience with CAD software
Experience with GPS/Survey equipment and software
Working conditions
Time will be spent in an office environment and on project sites. Some travel will be required, and the successful candidate must be familiar with general health and safety requirements as well as any site-specific safety requirements.
