David G. Roach & Sons is seeking an entry level or experienced Survey/Engineering technican in our Barre Office. Competitive pay, benefits and ability to participate in a growing heavy civil construction company.
Essential Functions:
- Perform field surveys prior to and during construction activities to assist site construction activities.
- Process field data in CAD to create 3D machine control models.
- Utilize CAD to perform quantity take offs
- Prepare Asbuilt plans
- Collect soil samples
- Assist project managers with tasks to support ongoing projects.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 1-5 years of experience with AutoCAD or Carlson Civil/Survey Suite
- Strong Math Skills
- Knowledge of Field Survey Operations, Engineering, & Construction Industry
- Organizational & Communication Skills
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management
- Ability to work independently
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Familiarity with Trimble GPS equipment a plus
- Ability to work in fast paced environment.
- Clean Driving Record
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to navigate a construction environment with uneven ground and obstacles while carrying field equipment
- Ability to wear PPE as dictated by field conditions
- Ability to sit at computer terminal for extended periods of time
