Staff Accountant

Description We are searching for a Staff Accountant to join our team located in Worcester, Massachusetts. This role is primarily focused on providing tax and accounting services within our industry. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing tax returns for individuals and corporations, as well as assisting with other accounting tasks. Responsibilities: Prepare federal and state income tax returns for individuals and businesses, including corporations and partnerships. Handle potential exposure to federal and state tax returns for estates, trusts, and not-for-profit organizations. Complete specific assignments under supervision in a technically competent manner. Collaborate with the tax team to refine tax procedures. Execute basic accounting tasks for various clients and businesses utilizing clients' records. Maintain clear and open communication with clients to gather necessary information and clarify tax-related/accounting issues. Ensure high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks. Utilize strong computer skills to manage tasks, particularly with CCH products, QuickBooks, and MS Office Suite.Requirements A minimum of 1 year of experience in an accounting role is required. Demonstrated proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Proficient in conducting Bank Reconciliations. Familiarity with the General Ledger and Journal Entries. Experience with the Month End Close process is necessary. Proficiency in QuickBooks is a must. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail and accuracy are critical. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices is necessary.
