Job Summary:
As an Entry-Level Auto Body Shop Prep Technician, you will play a crucial role in preparing vehicles for repairs and refinishing. You will work under the guidance of experienced technicians to ensure that vehicles are properly prepped and ready for the repair process. Responsibilities:
Clean and wash vehicles thoroughly to remove dirt, grease, and contaminants.
Assist in masking and taping off areas of vehicles to protect them from overspray during painting.
Sand and smooth vehicle surfaces using hand and power tools as directed by senior technicians.
Assist in the mixing and application of primers, sealers, and topcoats according to specifications.
Ensure that all prep work meets quality standards and is completed in a timely manner.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace to facilitate efficiency and safety.
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
No prior experience required; training will be provided.
Basic understanding of automotive repair processes and tools is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and take direction from senior technicians.
Willingness to learn and develop new skills in auto body repair and refinishing.
Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity.
