MA-based company looking for candidate to join Civil Construction team, and perform a variety of semi-skilled maintenance work, operate various light and moderately heavy construction and maintenance equipment for construction operation, repair, maintenance and replacement. Light Equipment Operator is expected to exercise considerable technical skill and ability as well as independent judgment and knowledge in the performance of daily assignments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate light to moderately heavy or complex equipment such as a dump truck, backhoe, front end loader, mini excavator, etc.

Have basic understanding and knowledge of site construction drawings.

Be responsible for ordering site specific civil material i.e., rebar, forms, material.

Have knowledge and ability to form, tie and pour small cement slabs.

Be able to service and make minor repairs to equipment, and report major maintenance or repair problems to supervisors.

Perform duties of a general laborer in maintenance and construction work when not operating equipment.

Receive instruction from supervisors concerning work to be performed and equipment to be used such as trucks, tractors, plows, etc.

Prepare for work by servicing equipment as needed with water, oil, gas and lubrication of moving parts.

Operate trucks including loading, transporting, and unload equipment, supplies, materials, and/or machinery.

Perform required labor involved in construction and maintenance projects as part of a crew, including pavement cutting, ditch digging, laying and backfilling.

Other requirements of this position are:

OSHA30 certification is required within first month of employment.

Applicant must have a valid drivers license and be able to travel in and through-out New England; and be able to obtain MassDOT Medical Card.
