This position is responsible for preventative maintenance, annual inspections, and daily repairs of our fleet equipment. Ability to maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed. Position also includes cleaning, maintenance, assembly and disassembly, and other misc tasks required for fleet maintenance. Applicant must be a self motivated, have good attendance, a positive attitude, and punctuality.
Essential Functions
Maintenance and repair of our equipment
Collaborate with senior leaders to develop departmental goals
Inspect equipment at least once a year and is calibrated based on the manufacturers recommendations or government standard
Assist in properly maintaining the shop, and ensuring its functionality and cleanliness
Monitor preventative maintenance schedule on all equipment
Follow service schedules on equipment for warranty compliance
Work with a sense of urgency, and ensure the ready status of all idle equipment
Participate in the equipment evaluation process to determine buy/sell needs
Help to maintain files on all equipment for historical purposes
Maintain a positive working relationship with fellow shop employees and other departments of the company.

Position Type-Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Monday through Friday. Occasionally some evenings and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Required Education and Experience
Associates degree or graduation from accredited Technical School
Minimum of 3 to 5 years in heavy highway equipment maintenance facility
Extensive knowledge of large trucks
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Works with a sense of urgency
Progressive and up-to-date ideas
Must be organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and have a passion for what you do
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Michigan Motor Vehicle Mechanic Certifications, (HDT, Engine Repair “Diesel, Drive Train, Brakes and Braking Systems, Suspension/Steering Systems and Electrical Systems), Valid Driver License, and CDL driver license (not required, but preferred to test drive vehicles).
