Job Summary The Software Architect of a Mobile team establishes the technical strategy within native mobile applications and their corresponding backend APIs; oversees the architectural design, development and deployment of Mobile's overall software and/or system; develops the technical vision; and creates the architectural road map to enable that vision.
Responsibilities
Establish, document, communicate and enforce the policy for standardizing systems and software as necessary
Develop, document and communicate plans for implementing software including Architectural diagrams
Prototype and create proof-of-concept implementations for new and existing technologies to make recommendations
Develop strategies for dependency management, build systems and continuous integration
Collaborate with development teams on best practices, process changes, standards and continuous process improvement topics (unit testing, continuous integration, code reviews, etc.) and build highly maintainable and reusable automation modules
Develop a strategic vision for software platforms that enable the broader vision for the Technology team and the business
Mentor and coach team members to expand their awareness of other aspects of the company
Develop some percentage of the time on Mobile/API systems to keep skills current
Promote a good engineer culture on the Mobile teams
Develop relationships with other architects and mobile teams to help develop standards and patterns
Work with senior leaders to communicate and deploy Mobile's technical vision
