Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled line cook to join our team at a busy neighborhood bar. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes that meet our customers' expectations in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes and standards
Ensure all dishes are made to order and presented in a timely manner
Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed
Ensure that kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned
Follow proper food handling and sanitation guidelines
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure consistent quality of dishes
Work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
Communicate effectively with other team members and management
Perform other duties as assigned by the kitchen manager or head chef
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience as a line cook in a high-volume restaurant or pub
Knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety procedures
Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Culinary degree or certification is a plus, but not required
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Must be able to work in a hot and humid environment
