We are looking for a weekend dispatcher for our family-owned company based in Detroit Michigan.
Schedule Friday through Monday:
Friday 1100 - 1900
Saturday 0800-2000
Sunday 0800-2000
Monday 1100-1900
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to handle request by phone and email from customers and carriers to add, delete or modify routes.
Communicate with drivers and provide instructions to ensure on time shipments
Monitor and adjust driver schedules to cover required transportation commitments.
Responsible for transportation management software data updates.
Fulfill requests by researching, locating and providing information.
Generate equipment reports to ensure all available equipment is utilized
Requirements and Skills:
Proven experience as logistics coordinator
Experience in customer service will be appreciated
Knowledge of FMCSA rules, regulations and safety requirements
Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes
Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software (PCS)
Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
High school diploma/GED required.
2+ years of experience in logistics management required.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software.
Good management and organizational skills.
Strong problem-solving skills.
