Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer will provide quality assurance (QA) support to an assigned project team, resolving bugs, defects, and other issues and ensuring the project meets customer specifications. The Quality Engineer will provide quality assurance (QA) support to customers in the form of training, audits, QMS activities, etc.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Become the resident expert of the customer supplier parts and provide representation and avocation.
  • Interfacing and interacting with Manufacturing and Quality Teams from the OEM and Tier 1 Suppliers.
  • Interpret data and other variables, including basic specification sheets and technical documents, to provide feedback and resolution on behalf of the supplier.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement (CI) activities in an ongoing effort to make incremental improvements to products, services or processes over time.
  • Conduct training on quality assurance concepts and tools.
  • Perform quality system audits.
  • Assist customers with quality systems projects; APQP, FMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, MSA, etc.
  • Assist customers with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Any other duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization’s Values.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and sketches.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge of and the ability to quickly learn production processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to serve as a liaison with developers, project managers, and customer support.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of IATF / ISO systems.
  • Ability to properly use basic measuring devices preferred: Calipers, Micrometers, etc.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Ability to understand and communicate Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other related software.
  • Ability to travel 60%

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline required.
  • Three years of related quality experience required.
  • Three years manufacturing experience

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to be on feet for at least 8 hours a day.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
