What You’ll DoAs a veterinary kennel technician, you’ll be responsible for the daily care and comfort of patients staying in our hospital and boarding facility. Your responsibilities will include:Feeding, walking, bathing, and caring for hospitalized and boarding animals.Cleaning kennels, treatment areas, and other hospital spaces to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.Providing medications as directed and accurately documenting medication administration.Monitoring appetite, behavior, elimination, and overall condition and communicating concerns to the veterinary team.Assisting with post-operative patients and providing supportive nursing care.Helping veterinarians and veterinary assistants with safe animal restraint during examinations and treatments.Restocking hospital and kennel supplies.Maintaining accurate records regarding medications, special diets, appetite, behavior, and patient concerns.Learning to properly clean and sterilize surgical instruments as needed.Recognizing abnormal conditions and promptly communicating changes to the veterinary team.
