job detailsjob summary:Large utility is looking for a Gas Service DesignAnalyst in Jackson, MI. The Gas Service Design Analyst reviews gas distribution service designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company processes, while utilizing CAD and GIS software to manage complex projects and provide feedback to designers and leadership. This is a contract position estimated to last 12 months, possible extension, possible temp to perm. Review gas distribution service designs, SAP notifications, and design documents.
Document project adherence to business processes, company and industry standards, and design best practices.
Provide feedback to service designers on design errors and clarify review feedback when needed.
Report common design errors to leadership.
Additional Responsibilities:
Use Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Geographic Information System (GIS) software to review utility system designs.
Review projects with complexities from intermediate to advanced levels.
Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, and leadership to ensure compliance and task management.
Apply and recommend department standards, procedures, and job aids to plans and specifications, maps, reports, etc.
Ensure compliance with utility design and construction standards, understanding materials and components.
Analyze industry standards, maps, drawings, survey data, sketches, and project scope.
Perform other non-essential duties as needed.
Skills Required:
Software: Experience with MicroStation V8i or v10, AutoCAD, Open Plant, GIS.
Task Management: Skilled at prioritization and team coordination while maintaining independence.
Industry Knowledge: Energy industry background, especially in gas distribution utility operations and design.
Compliance: Ability to understand and regulations, company policies, standards, and procedures.
Detail-oriented.
Communication: strong technical writing, written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience:Education: Technical or engineering Associate Degree or higher.Experience:
Required: 4-7 years of experience.
Preferred: 7-10 years of experience.
