SCRMC Behavioral Health Tech JOB SUMMARYA behavioral health technician works to support the treatment of clients suffering from alcohol, drugs, and other interfering addiction behavior. They work alongside a multidisciplinary team in the joint effort to implement rehabilitation programs and help patients reach their journey to sobriety. Moreover, a behavioral health tech develops and coordinates treatment plans with health care professionals, conducts research, assessments, and monitors the patients’ progress throughout the detoxification processes. Core duties: Demonstrates nursing assistant duties including assisting with bathing, feeding, dressing, and other activities of daily living Records and reports to the appropriate nurse any treatment, results, observations, patient complaints, and other pertinent information regarding the condition of the patient Accurately and completely checks vital signs and documents results in the EMR Engages and participates with/in patient therapies Assisting in maintaining a clean, compassionate, caring, and safe environment for the patient and staff to ensure patient safety Completes all assigned duties and accepts additional assignments willingly Assist, maintain, and supervise patients during outing events Assist with admissions including searching of patient belongings, urine collection, welcoming the patient Answers unit phone Assist with orientation of new personnel Anticipates needs by checking on patients regularly and answering the call light Professional Duties: Adheres to dress code Adheres to and aware of all policies and procedures Participates in continuous quality improvement measures Adapts to change and prioritizes work Willing to stay late to finish care and unit responsibilities Using supplies appropriately demonstrating a cost effective awareness by practicing efficient and non-wasteful use of supplies and linen Keeping access to protected health information secure and confidential Appropriately seeks help or guidance from supervisors or other resource staff Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner Demonstrates reliable attendance, reports on time, and is ready to work at start of shift Must complete all annual requirements in a timely manner Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications CPR certified Must be 18 years or older High school diploma or GED preferred Must have completed a nurse aid class (previous nurse aid experience preferred) Must have current Driver’s license with good driving record Required InteractionSkills: Attention to detail Ability to read and write Ability to understand verbal and written communication Communicates effectively Conflict resolution Active listening skills Interdisciplinary collaboration Ability to remain calm Customer service Physical Demands: Stand, sit, walk- frequently Talk, hear- continuously Pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, carrying - frequently Using hands- frequently
