OverviewTrack Utilities is currently hiring a natural gas pipe welder/fuser. This person is responsible for going into residential and commercial areas working on live as well as new natural gas lines and facilities working with their crew to complete tasks for the day. The welder/fuser at Track Utilities is important to the day to day operations and should be able to trouble shoot, manage challenging jobs and naturally share our core values. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Join gas pipe by welding, fusing or met-fitting
Assist equipment operators, hand digging, locating underground obstructions as needed
Work with specialized equipment including welding and fusing machines and other necessary tools
Work safely around backhoes, excavators, trenchers and dump truck
Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards
Complete duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift
Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces, on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping and kneeling
Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions
Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers
Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy
English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports
Willingness and ability to learn additional skills
Ability to complete computer based Operator Qualifications through EWN
Abilitiy to obtain DOT Medical card
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent desired
Experience working with underground utilities desired
CDL A is a plus
Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus
