Find your future with us.Boeing is seeking a Structures Test & Evaluation Data Analysis Engineer to work in the Structures and Mechanical Test (STR) capability as part of the Structures Test & Evaluation Engineering team located in Berkeley, MO . The STR capability supports structural, mechanical and material properties test programs for all Boeing Divisions, including Boeing Commercial Aircraft (BCA), Boeing Defense Systems (BDS), and Boeing Space Programs. The STR team is part of a larger lab complex at the Berkeley site. There are often opportunities to work across teams and labs to support all of the Boeing product lines and their test needs.This role would have an emphasis on the data acquisition, processing and software support to the team’s test programs. The successful candidate would be participating in:
Providing the business partner (customer) with accurate structural test data on schedule and in the most efficient and cost-effective manner
Developing and updating tools and programs for the team to use for current and future structural testing
Helping lead and develop data acquisition, test control and testing best practices of the future
As part of this team, the candidate will have the opportunity to work on the latest military aircraft and weapons programs, such as T-7A and MQ-25A, and support our legacy programs like F-15 and F-18 into the future. The St. Louis STR team supports tests ranging from material testing to airframe component testing to full-scale static and fatigue testing.This position is for 1st shift; however, various shifts, nights, weekends, and alternate shifts may be required to support program objectives.Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; entry-level, associate, and experienced level Structures Test & Evaluation Data Analysis Engineers.Position Responsibilities:
Configure, integrate and maintain computing hardware, software and systems to fulfill all test requirements
Configure and operate data acquisition systems and software
Configure and operate test control systems and software
Design, create and verify testing application I/O requirements
Formulate expectations for test data based on historical data
Analyze, review and validate test data to ensure test instrumentation hardware and software readiness and test result integrity
Exhibit a high degree of computational aptitude, including competency in application software usage and development
Utilize communication skills and work with various cross-functional teams in situations that require significant judgment and decision-making
Exhibit competency in training others
Provide support to a test program under general direction
Participate in the preparation, setup and conduct of structural and mechanical tests
Coordinate with business partners, team members, shop personnel, and other support personnel
Present test results to internal and external customers
Support lab infrastructure and compliance by overseeing updates to software and hardware to meet government and regulator standards
Develop and maintain test configuration and results data retention management tools, processes and databases
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry by July 2023
Academic or work experience in software development in any or all of the following programs/languages: Python, C, C, C#, VBA, FORTRAN, HTML, CSS, MATLAB, LabVIEW, .NET, Bootstrap, JavaScript, Jquery, Entity Framework, and/or DevExpress
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Computer Science or Computer/Software Engineering
A current active U.S. Secret Clearance
1+ years of experience with lab or flight test data processing and verification
1+ years of experience with engineering application software development
1+ years of experience with SQL and Oracle database maintenance
1+ years of experience working in a lab test environment
1+ years of experience with aircraft-related structural tests, flight tests, or ground tests
1+ years of experience with instrumentation and/or data acquisition systems
1+ years of experience with MTS AeroPro control and data acquisition software
Software development working in an integrated development environment (IDE) demonstrating experience in: Python, C, C, C#, VBA, FORTRAN, HTML, CSS, MATLAB, LabVIEW, .NET, Bootstrap, JavaScript, Jquery, Entity Framework, DevExpress and software version control
