Teaching undergraduate courses in motor control and learning, or other exercise science courses such as research methods or strength and conditioning for students in the Kinesiology and Health Enhancement majors; develop
teaching graduate courses in motor control and learning for students in the Exercise and Nutrition Science program.
The faculty member will also be expected to:
Develop an independent, extramurally funded research program in their area of expertise
Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students
Participate on departmental, college, and university committees, as appropriate.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Ph.D. in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or other related field with emphasis in motor control, motor behavior, or related field. ABD considered, however, doctorate must be complete upon start date of TBD .
Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate or graduate courses in motor control or related field.
A record of scholarly activity including peer-reviewed publications and/or presentations.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Expertise in the use of lab equipment appropriate for research in motor control.
Demonstrated experience with multidisciplinary teaching and research.
Demonstrated ability to apply kinesiology principles to a variety of human movement areas (sports, rehabilitation, ergonomics, health and fitness).
Demonstrated ability to advise students to develop the experience and sills for careers and post-graduate education.
The Successful Candidate Will
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrate the ability to develop an extramurally funded research program which compliments current research in the Department.
Demonstrate potential to collaborate both within the HHD Department and external to the Department.
