6 months contract (Potential to be extended)
1 st shift 8am
$23/hr
Job Description:
Work in clean laboratory and growth chamber environments with plants, soil, and plant pathogens.
Duties include but are not limited to preparing testing supplies, including inoculum cultures, planting, general plant care, plant inoculations, disease ratings and regular cleaning of labs and chambers.
Regularly work in environments that are dusty, warm, or required to remain clean.
Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Associates degree with 1 year or Bachelors.
Familiarity with sterile technique, culturing fungi and bacteria in vitro is desired but not necessary
Must be comfortable working in growth chambers and follow all procedures and SOPs
Must be comfortable working with multiple digital tools for accessing and recording data.
Demonstration of self-motivation, flexibility, and reliability is required
Previous course work and/or experience in plant care and/or plant pathology desired.
Must have excellent organizational skills and work ethic, be detail-oriented, work in a fast-paced environment, and work both independently and on a team
