The internship program with the Meramec Business Unit in Cuba, MO will primarily focus on the responsibilities within the Accounting function. The Accounting function performs the monthly financial close, monthly account analysis, account reconciliations and manages accounts receivable and payable, as well as special projects. As an intern you will apply your knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles and Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls in a large corporate environment.
You will work alongside experienced finance team members to learn how the accounting principles are applied in our day-to-day activities as well as our monthly financial close responsibilities, perform account analysis, prepare journal entries, and reconcile accounts.
Participate in several special projects including a conversion to SAP and SOX/Policy compliance evaluation in preparation of internal audit.
What will help you thrive in this role?
Currently pursuing a degree in accounting, completed at least intermediate-level accounting classes by Summer 2024
Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
