Eurofins is searching for a Hazardous Waste Coordinator for the laboratory for Earth City MO. Schedule is Mon-Fri 8:00am- 4:30pm +/-  overtime as needed.Compensation range - $19-22/hour based on experience. Full Benefits. The Hazardous Waste Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the collection, storage, documentation, transportation, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes generated by laboratory operations. This position serves as the primary point of contact for day-to-day waste management activities and ensures compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and applicable state and local regulations.The Hazardous Waste Coordinator manages waste inventories, inspections, vendor interactions, regulatory documentation, waste minimization efforts, and disposal projects while supporting a safe and compliant laboratory environment.Waste Management and DisposalCoordinates and performs the collection, storage, segregation, packaging, transportation, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste generated throughout the laboratory. Serves as the primary owner of day-to-day waste disposal activities for all laboratory departments. Ensures waste streams are properly characterized, labeled, and managed in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures. Coordinates waste pickups with approved Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities (TSDFs) and ensures waste is shipped within applicable regulatory accumulation time limits.Laboratory Waste Disposal Program ManagementManages the complete lifecycle of laboratory-generated waste from point of generation through final disposal. Works directly with analysts, supervisors, and laboratory managers to ensure waste is properly accumulated, stored, and prepared for disposal. Oversees disposal activities for hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste, solvents, acids, caustics, laboratory chemicals, soil samples, laboratory glass, and other regulated waste streams. Monitors waste inventories and storage capacities while ensuring uninterrupted disposal services that support laboratory operations.Compliance and DocumentationMaintains waste disposal records in a complete, accurate, and legally defensible manner. Prepares and manages manifests, land disposal restriction forms, certificates of destruction, waste profiles, POTW documentation, shipping records, and other required regulatory documents. Maintains waste tracking systems and generates reports necessary for internal management and regulatory compliance. Tracks waste generation volumes and disposal activities for corporate and regulatory reporting purposes.Inspections and Corrective ActionsConducts weekly inspections of satellite accumulation areas and hazardous waste storage locations to verify compliance with environmental regulations and company requirements. Documents inspection findings, distributes reports to laboratory leadership and EH&S personnel, and tracks corrective actions through completion. Ensures waste storage areas remain compliant, organized, and inspection-ready at all times.Chemical and Special Waste ManagementPackages expired, obsolete, and surplus chemicals for transportation and disposal in accordance with applicable regulations. Coordinates chemical lab packs and drum shipments for incineration or other approved disposal methods. Manages the disposal of soil samples and other specialty waste streams through return to client, landfill disposal, or TSDF processing as appropriate. Evaluates disposal options to ensure compliance while controlling disposal costs.Spill Response and Emergency PreparednessCoordinates spill response activities involving hazardous waste storage and handling areas. Completes required incident documentation and assists with corrective action implementation. Maintains spill kits, emergency response equipment, and waste handling supplies. Conducts routine inspections of personal protective equipment and spill control materials and coordinates replacement when necessary.Waste Minimization and Environmental StewardshipCoordinates the site's Waste Minimization Program and assists with the development and implementation of waste reduction initiatives. Tracks waste generation trends, identifies opportunities to reduce disposal costs, and supports environmental sustainability objectives. Maintains records associated with waste minimization efforts and prepares periodic reports reflecting program effectiveness.Housekeeping and Storage Area ManagementMaintains hazardous waste storage areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Ensures chemical storage and waste handling locations remain free of clutter and potential fire hazards. Oversees segregation and disposal of non-hazardous laboratory glass and waste materials. Maintains orderly storage conditions that promote regulatory compliance and safe access for laboratory personnel.Safety and Environmental SupportParticipates in site safety initiatives and serves as a resource for laboratory personnel regarding proper waste handling and disposal practices. Supports environmental audits, regulatory inspections, and EH&S compliance programs. Promotes safe work practices and environmental responsibility throughout the laboratory while ensuring all waste management activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.Perform other duties as assigned.
