Responsibilities
Understand the scope of work, conduct site visits, and identify risks and challenges.
Perform accurate takeoff for earthwork, excavation, trenching, and pipe installation.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for all phases of earthwork and utility installation scopes of work.
Utilize estimating software and databases to track and compile estimates based on historical data and current market trends and prices.
Develop comprehensive bid proposals, ensuring exclusions and clarifications are included.
Submit bids on time and manage follow-up communications with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
Assist in developing project and/or company budgets and provide cost control measures throughout the project life cycle.
Identify opportunities for cost saving through value engineering without compromising quality or safety.
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure alignment on project objectives and cost expectations.
Stay up to date with industry trends, pricing, and technological advancements in estimating software and methods.Requirements
At least 7 years of commercial construction estimating experience, with a focus on site development.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong technical skills, particularly with commercial estimating software.
Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy, completeness, and quality.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build positive, professional relationships across all levels of the organization.

Experience with underground 'wet' utilities.
