What would I be doing?Located just east of downtown Kansas City, Ameristar Casino Hotel Kansas City is a Midwestern entertainment hub that offers something for everyone. Ameristar Kansas City has one of the largest casino floors in Missouri, amazing dining venues, a newly renovated luxury hotel and more. Ameristar also offers convenient parking in a five-level, 2,660 space parking structure with an enclosed, climate-controlled walkway to the casino and entertainment center. Ameristar is looking for a Cook to join our burger concept, Burger Joint. If you love to cook burgers, we want you on our team. We also make a mean chicken sandwich and the fries and shakes are to die for!ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate:
Will work with fresh food and ingredients. Burger Joint does not cook frozen burgers!
Work with equipment such as, knives, steamers, sauté station, frying, ovens, braiser, steam kettle, char broiler, griddle, rotisserie, smokers, woks, slicers, food processors.
Artfully prepare wholesome foods and deliver a quality product to our guests and team members.
Read food orders from computer printouts, and prepare food items, according to established menu plans.
Wash, slice, peel and/or cut various foods to prepare for cooking or serving.
Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently, using methods such as tasting, smelling or piercing them with utensils.
What are we looking for?This is a burger joint and the goal is to get fresh hot food to our guests and team members. How do you do that?
Always exhibit a friendly and approachable demeanor and be polite and courteous. No exceptions!
Be prepared with the knowledge and skill required to be responsive to guests’ and team members’ needs and questions. In other words.know your stuff!
Must be available to work nights, weekends and holidays. This is a casino and we are open 24/7.
Use and maintain all assigned areas and equipment in a sanitary, safe and effective manner.
Attendance is very important. Be here and be on time. Those burgers aren't going to cook themselves.
Maintain a well-groomed, neat and clean appearance.
At least one (1) year experience directly related to specified job skills.
