DEPARTMENT/TEAM DESCRIPTIONThis position is in a Quality Control laboratory in an agricultural chemical’s manufacturing plant. The laboratory performs routine testing on intermediates, final products, and waste byproducts produced at the site.POSITION SUMMARYThis position will perform day-to-day laboratory tasks in the Quality Control Laboratory and the Plant Support LaboratoryPOSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Collection and disposal of liquid and solid hazardous waste
Organize, wash, and maintain inventory of laboratory glassware and pipets
Check performance of eye wash stations and safety showers
Use STARLiMS Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
Perform basic record keeping
Search various databases for LFO's and SOP's
Maintains appropriate records to help laboratory maintain internal requirements as well as, ISO 9001, 14001, and 18 Observe good safety and housekeeping practices.
Maintain laboratory supply room and laboratory prep areas.
Follow oral and written instructions.
Participates on continuous improvement sub teams.
Knowledgeable of RCRA hazardous waste regulations, waste determinations, waste codes, and how to immediately communicate discovery of spills and leaks.
Also must know labeling, inspection, and record keeping requirements to accumulate waste in: satellite accumulation areas, less than 90 day containers, and less than 90 day tanks.
Initial RCRA hazardous waste training shall be completed within 6 months of starting job, and refresher training shall occur annually thereafter, per 40 §265.16.
Additional laboratory related duties may be added as time allows
REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES:Education:
High school diploma preferred

Good oral and written communication skills.
High attention to detail
Habits of cleanliness, neatness and organization
Ability to multi-task
Preferences:
High school or college chemistry class
2+ years of work experience in a manufacturing environment
