Job DescriptionThe Sr. Director Strategic Resource Management is responsible for developing, executing and overseeing global resource strategies for R&D, including strategic outsourcing, R&D resource management and key performance indicators. The role is responsible for the consolidated strategy needed to ensure R&D resourcing for the portfolio is aligned to overall business objectives.

Leads the development of the internals demand needed to support AbbVie’s development portfolio and present across R&D leadership

Analyze resources needs, cost efficiencies, flexible capacity, and new business capability development to Identify sourcing needs and proposals across R&D in supporting the achievement of corporate goals

Create, implement, and evolve consolidated and function-specific resourcing plans across R&D (in conjunction with R&D functional resourcing SMEs)

Provide resourcing estimates for business development opportunities to execute clinical development plans if the transaction moves forward

Partner with R&D functions, PSM, and AbbVie Outsourcing center of excellence to implement new outsourcing engagements and extensions

Liaise with other AbbVie business stakeholders for resourcing estimates for work cross-functionally (e.g. Global Medical Affairs, Clinical Development) Continuous involvement and collaborative leadership for all R&D resourcing engagements, ensuring expert oversight, issue management, and progressive evolution

Collaborates with R&D Resourcing Community of Practice (CoP) and other functions to lead and participate in initiatives to improve resourcing operational performance, enhance culture or improve decision-making

Develops and maintains business relationships across functional areas across AbbVie to further R&D resource objectives in support of the strategic imperatives

Partners across R&D leaders to enhance teamwork and department culture, identify issues and partners to identify workable solutions

QualificationsBachelor’s Degree 10 years’ experience in resource management, vendor management or outsourcing 7 years’ experience in R&D Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate others in a complex, multi-functional matrix environment Executive level collaboration and leadership skills Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills History of anticipating and resolving problems while exhibiting superior judgment and a balanced, realistic understanding of issues Knowledge of Good Clinical Practices (GCP), FDA regulations and guidelines, and international regulatory requirements/ guidelines Key Stakeholders: R&D LT, R&D Resourcing Community of Practice members, Finance, Functional VPs and Chief of Staff (eg GMA, Clinical Development) Additional InformationApplicable only to applicants applying to a position in any location with pay disclosure requirements under state or local law: ​​

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
