Purpose of Position: Maintain and improve the physical appearance of the building and grounds according to standards of each location. Responsibilities may include fixing and repairing property and equipment to ensure a positive physical appearance of common areas, public restrooms and exterior of the property to ensure tenant, customer and staff safety, and good tenant and public relations.
Typical Duties:
1. Exercises all custodial responsibilities during shift.
2. Maintain the cleanliness of the inside of the property: collect trash, clean bathrooms mop floors, wash windows, power wash etc.
3. Maintain the exterior appearance of the property: pick up trash, wash windows, and maintain parking lot and grounds. Remove snow and ice from parking lots and sidewalks as needed.
4. Assist Director of Marketing with special events and/or assist Market Manager with set up and dismantling of special promotions and Farmers’ Market.
5. Any additional duties as assigned.
Work Relationships: Position reports to the Director of Operations. Position has frequent contact with management staff regarding requests for custodial needs.
Minimum Requirements: The position requires high school diploma or equivalent. Basic reading and mathematical skills required. Six months custodial experience necessary.
Physical Requirements:
Heavy lifting – 20 to 50 pounds – daily, handling tools, ice melt, etc.
Light lifting – under 20 pounds – daily, handling tools, supplies, etc.
Extensive walking – several miles per day, touring facility and getting to and from locations needing service.
