Job Description – Customer Service Representative, American Family Insurance - Nicole Feltz, Agent
Location – Overland Park, KS
The Customer Service Representative supports all agency operations but specializes in Personal, Commercial & Brokerage new business eligibility, quoting, entry, and ongoing service. Our ideal candidate will be a decisive, self-starter, with a passion for working with people! They should have experience in customer service and internal sales and enjoy building customer relationships. We are looking for someone to be an ambassador of the American Family brand, who loves sharing about the products/services we offer.

As a Customer Service Representative, you will be expected to:
Office Operations
Process changes to existing accounts and policies
Serve as a liaison on behalf of the customer between the agency and various business partners
Assist customers with claims by directing them to the appropriate Claims Department contacts and resources.
Provide personalized, professional customer service experiences through building trust and developing strong customer relationships
Respond to customer inquiries regarding coverages, billing, claims or products by following established agency processes and procedures
Maintain document retention strategies for customer interactions
Provide front-line service for incoming customer requests via email, phone, and walk-in
Schedule appointments with existing or prospective customers for agency Team Members
Perform daily administrative functions to assist the agency owner, office manager or sales unit manager
Assist with set up and execution of agency events
Assist with cash handling and banking activities
Insurance Sales
Participate in reviews of existing coverages and may advise customers regarding policy options
Estimate and quotes policy premiums complying with underwriting guidelines
Identify cross-selling opportunities during customer interactions and takes appropriate action
Contact appropriate business partners for guidance when needed
Education/Licenses/Designations
Required by state statutes to have proper insurance licensing to sell, solicit or negotiate insurance products. This position must have all qualifying lines of authority: Property; Casualty; Life
Valid driver’s license required
College Degree preferred
Required Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated experience with bookkeeping and record keeping
Experience with building relationships
Experience with Microsoft Office applications
Demonstrated customer service experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated analytical skills
Experience using a wide range of digital devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptop computers
Preferred Knowledge and Skills
Office management or supervisory experience
Experience with financial software, such as QuickBooks, Quicken
Knowledge of insurance concepts and principles
Basic knowledge of effective prospecting and sales experience
Experience with social media platforms, including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.56 - $21.95 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
