Job Description:Job Summary: The incumbent of this position is responsible for providing day-to-day services under the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Specialist (PSR) program, in accordance with State Regulatory directives, to clients with severe and persistent mental illness.Essential Job Functions:

Continuously monitors premises to ensure that all safety and sanitation requirements are being maintained.

Maintains a standard of behavior that is at all times consistent with agency expectations and program philosophy.

Insure that all program expectations and curfews are adhered to, and report behaviors which may assist in CPRC team.

Facilitate PSR education sessions, under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor and/or PSR Supervisor.

Performs orientation, education, referral, record keeping functions, and participate in team planning.

Plans, organizes and facilitates groups, outings or other activities to accomplish program objectives.

Under the directions of CPRC Clinical Supervision and/or PSR Supervisor, serves as an advocate to the client in the implementation of treatment plan.

Attends scheduled staff meetings.

Serves as an appropriate role model for clients.

Operates the van and/or vehicle for client transportation and business needs.

Demonstrates interest in long term and short -term goals and objectives of the company.

Other duties as assigned by Clinical Supervisor, Program Director, and/or Executive Team member.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Thorough knowledge of case management and rehabilitation methods, principles and techniques as they relate to mental health services.

Knowledge of the policies, procedures, and regulations of the program to which the associate is assigned.

Detailed knowledge of the problems encountered by persons with mental illness in residing in the community and how to access the various community resources available.

Considerable knowledge of the methods and modalities as well as the legal requirements and court procedures related to treating mental illnesses and substance abuse.

Aptitudes to develop, coordinate, and evaluate services within assigned program responsibilities.

Capability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively to produce clear and concise reports.

Experience and Education Qualifications:

High School education or equivalent and two (2) years responsible employment history.

Supervisory Requirements:

None

Employment Requirements:

Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect and fingerprint check.

Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.

All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.

Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.

Behavioral Management training completed within thirty (30) days of employment or first available class after start date:

CPI for Residential programs

Peaceful Intervention or Verbal De-escalation for Outpatient programs

Completion of “Direct Service Expectations” within 30 Days of employment.

Achievement of thirty-six (36) hour training requirements within 2 year period in accordance with 9 CSR 10-7.110 E 1.

Growth and Development form (CPRC only) within thirty (30) days of employment.

Privileging and Credentialing form (CPRC only) within thirty (30) days of employment.

Within the first year of employment, receive training on:

Signs and symptoms of disability related illnesses

Working with families and caretaker of clients receiving services

Rights, roles, and responsibilities of client and families

Client self-help skills

Individual treatment plans

Basic principle of assessment

Special needs and characteristics

Philosophy of community support approach

Suicide awareness/precaution

Quality assurance

Infection control

Philosophy, values, and objectives of CPRC

Behavioral management/crisis intervention

Issues/involuntary hold

Valid Driver’s license in state of residency with an acceptable driving record is required.

Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age to operate a company-owned vehicle.

Must be at least twenty-three (23) years of age to operate a company-owned fifteen (15) passenger van.

Physical Requirements:ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up the 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shift.Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
