Job Title: Administrative AssistantDepartment: ClericalReports to: HEC DirectorClassification: Classified / Non-ExemptSummaryTo assure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office so that the offices maximum positive impact on the education of students can be realized.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required. Perform the usual office routines and practices, which includes receiving androuting incoming calls and welcoming parents and visitors to the office.

Assist the Director with all activities. This includes record keeping, scheduling, advertising, and federal and/or state reporting.

Assist visitors and maintain a log of visitors to the school.

Assist in maintaining student attendance records and helps to coordinate check-in/out procedures.

Creating purchase orders, track purchases and account balances.

Other duties as assigned by administrator.

High school diploma required.

College is considered a plus.

Demonstrate aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.

Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsNot applicableSkills and AbilitiesLanguageIndividual must be able to read and interpret documents, Write simple and complex reports, applications, and correspondence, and speak with students, staff members, and community members.ComputationAccounting and bookkeeping skills and knowledge of Excel Spreadsheet applications a plus.ReasoningThe ability to interpret and follow directions is required, as are basic problem-solving abilities.TechnologyMust have strong computer skills, including word processing, working with spreadsheets, and internet. Must have the ability to learn new systems and software with instruction. Must have the ability and knowledge to operate various types of duplicating machines. Must have computer skills to perform various tasks such as checking Emails, printing jobs from various file formats.Additional Skills and AbilitiesThis individual must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to safeguard confidential information.
