The Fertilizer Technician is responsible for applying fertilizer, pesticides, and herbicides to our commercial/residential clients landscape, as well as carrying out other turf-care related tasks.Annual base income of $35,000-$50,000 + commission, depending on experience.COMPANY CORE VALUES

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Apply fertilizer, pesticides, and herbicides to client landscapes using industry standard application equipment.
Complete turf-care related tasks including lawn aeration and seeding.
Calculate proper application rate and mix chemicals accordingly.
Prepare and submit site reports of chemical applications.
Administer correct handling, transportation, storage, and disposal procedures for chemicals.
Follow safety practices according to OSHA and Dept of Agriculture.
Monitor landscape and lawn heath care needs, suggests other services to customers
Interact respectfully with clients on-site as needed. Resolve issues or escalate to manager.
Complete customer estimates
Expand route with sales calls
Follow all safety, PPE, and housekeeping protocols.
Fill snow removal position during snow season and perform all associated duties.
Fill landscaping crew position between fertilization applications if needed.
Report to work on time each day, identify and suggest job improvements, and strive for quality.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
While we can train the right person for this job, preference will be given to applicants with prior fertilization, and/or sales experience. This position also has the opportunity to grow the fertilization department and will become a leadership position in the future.QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS
Reliable transportation.
Flexible work schedule as scheduling demands.
Valid drivers license with clean record.
Commercial Pesticide Applicator License- we can help you with this
Preferred, or can train- Experience operating z-spray, aerator, push spreader and related equipment
Preferred, or can train- Experience calculating proper application rates of fertilizer and other related chemicals
Basic math skills
Strong communication skills
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly exposed to outdoor environmental conditions including extreme heat and wintry conditions.
Employee may be exposed to chemicals contained in fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides
Employee may be required to walk for long stretches of time. Bending and carrying tools or other items may be required.
Employee should be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
