Fills the rotational, surge and on demand counseling assignments of the MFLC program with qualified, credentialed counselors to provide direct counseling services to service members and their families on-site at military installations within the Continental United States (CONUS) as requested and approved by OSD/Department of Defense (DoD).

Perform expedited searches for counselors to fill rotational assignments. Ensure recruiting priorities are communicated expeditiously based on assignment requests. Coordinate with network/counselor recruiting functions to ensure most efficient, quality solution is delivered to fill assignments. Identify qualified counselors and match/staff to the installation leader and regional supervisor preference and MFLC assignment.

With an understanding of the rotational assignments within assigned area, works proactively with recruitment and network to ensure future rotations are staffed without gaps; assigns counselors to future gaps and emergent openings. Projects future staffing needs and partners with appropriate teams to build sufficient pool of qualified candidates. Establishes relationships with counselors within assigned areas to build commitment and continuity to avoid service gaps.

Ensures consistency, equity, financial responsibility, and compliance with contract in the manner counselors are assigned; gives highest priority to employed counselors who are between assignments, works to replace contracted counselors or travelers with local employed counselors were available.

In order to place and prepare candidates for success, scheduler engages in discussion with regional supervisor to fully understand any unique staffing requirements of each request for a counselor.

Develop assignment agreements with counselors verifying their commitment to the assignment. Update applicable systems on the status of all assignments in a timely manner. Ensures accurate and timely counselor task assignments are issued and that applicable systems are updated to align staff with appropriate supervisor and/or cost center.

Identify issues impacting the success of making efficient assignments and propose solutions to PMO. Participate in intradepartmental process improvement.
