REPORTS TO: Location Manager STATUS: Non-Exempt PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT A Grain Handler Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient handling, storage, and movement of grain in a facility. This role involves operating equipment, performing quality control checks, and ensuring that grain is properly stored, transferred, or shipped according to company and regulatory standards. The Grain Handler Technician plays a key role in maintaining operational efficiency while adhering to safety guidelines. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Safely operate equipment such as conveyors, elevators, and loaders for the movement and storage of grain. Perform routine inspections and maintenance of grain handling machinery to ensure optimal performance. Monitor grain quality through visual checks and testing for moisture, temperature, and contamination levels. Load and unload trucks, railcars, or other transport vehicles with grain products, ensuring proper documentation and tracking. Maintain clean and organized work areas, including grain bins, silos, and loading/unloading zones. Assist in inventory control and record-keeping for grain stocks, ensuring accurate reporting and adherence to safety standards. Work in compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations, including the proper use of protective gear. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or operational issues in the facility. Follow all safety protocols related to grain dust and hazardous conditions. Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and seasonal demands. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Ability to answer the phone and greet walk-in customers. Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA, and DOT policies and procedures as they apply. Performs all other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Educations and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. 1-3 years of experience in grain handling, feed mill operations, or related industries. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a professional demeanor. High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
