Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is seeking an experienced Senior Software Product Owner to join our Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) Operational Flight Program (OFP) Software Team in St. Charles, MO . This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. The operational flight program (OFP) block software is under development to align with the expanding capabilities and functionality of the Boeing-developed, direct attack, SDB (Small Diameter Bomb) weapon and carriage. The project has a broad and growing customer base of both international and domestic customers.The ideal candidate will have big ideas and strategies that foster an environment of collaboration and creativity. We need an entrepreneurial mindset that can distill business value and goals into roadmaps and refined product backlogs. Most importantly, we need a product owner to help us build better products people love using.The Senior Product Owner for the Operational Flight Program software team will:

Lead team scrums to define product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities, and communicate with stakeholders throughout the project.

Collaborate with internal and external contacts to analyze needs and align product roadmap to strategic goals.

Work closely with product managers and business teams to create and maintain product backlog according to business value or ROI.

Remain up to date on trends and best practices for agile project management.

Plan and prioritize product development and product feature backlog.

Develop detailed product feature specifications and ensure they’re clearly understood by relevant teams.

Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work aligns with product strategy.

Mitigate roadblocks to achieving sprint/release goals.

Serve as product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions.

Provides Engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers.

Develop a statement of work (SOW) to satisfy research and development and ongoing and new business requirements.

Works with customers and management to obtain approval.

Respond to changes to SOW, assess the impact, and negotiate proposed changes to determine modifications to the deliverables, resources, costs, and schedules.

Leads project execution to complete the work statement.

Identifies performance metrics.

Plans, identifies, and coordinates resources required over the life of the project or program.

Defines plans for risk mitigation and opportunity.

Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity, and lessons learned.

Provides technical, business, and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans.

Works under minimal direction.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (St. Charles, MO)This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications: (Required Skills/ Experience)

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

5+ years of experience in product development

1+ years of experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM)

Experience using agile methodology

Preferred Qualifications: (Desired Skills/Experience)

Experience working with Military or DoD customers is strongly desired

Defense industry experience

Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills

Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to effectively manage conflicting needs of stakeholders

Proficiency with applicable project management tools and technology

Understanding of business value related to features and functions

Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.Relocation:This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
