Job Description:
As a Farm Hand at Melton Ridge, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our farm. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Cow Milking:
Milk our dairy cows in a safe and efficient manner.
Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of milking equipment.
Maintain a comfortable and stress-free environment for the cows.
2. Bottling:
Assist in the bottling and packaging of fresh milk and dairy products.
Ensure proper labeling and storage of dairy products.
3. Movement of Cows on Pasture:
Lead and manage the movement of cows to and from pasture.
Monitor the health and well-being of the cows while they graze.
4. Fence Building:
Participate in the construction and repair of fences to secure pastures and enclosures.
Ensure the safety of livestock by maintaining secure boundaries.
5. Landscaping:
Assist in maintaining the farm's overall appearance by landscaping, mowing, and weed control.
Plant and care for gardens, trees, and flowers as needed.
6. Farm Store Management:
Help manage our farm store, including stocking products and assisting customers.
Provide information about our products and farm practices to customers.
Qualifications:
Previous experience working on a farm is a plus but not required.
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A passion for sustainable farming practices and animal welfare.
