Position Objective
GENEX is seeking a part-time Lab Technician to assist with all operations involved with semen extension, processing, freezing, and packaging to ensure a quality product.
Major Areas of Responsibility
Be responsible for preparing extender and extend, package, and freeze semen according to established procedures
Operate and maintain straw labeling equipment to ensure that straws are accurately printed with high quality labels and canes are accurately and legibly identified
Responsible for packaging GENEX production in bulk storage and creating proper packing sheets
Responsible for checking all test straws from production
Assist in caning semen, placing it in storage, and providing necessary documentation for input into the inventory database
Prepare and set up lab for collection, including maintaining a clean laboratory environment, clean straw machines, and clean glassware
Qualifications
Must be detail-oriented, responsible, and have the ability to multi-task
Must be fluent in computer programs such as Word and Access
Ability to work on feet and stand for long periods of time
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment as well as possess effective communication skills
Willingness to grow and develop both personally and professionally
