We have close to 300 acres around reeds spring / Spokane MO area. Looking for a good ranch hand that we can build a relationship with for years to come.
(UPDATE - We had hired a gentleman earlier last month but he had transportation issues and then reliability issues on scheduled shifts and we have parted ways and that is why this ad is back up. We are SEEKING new candidates to interview. We want to fill this job asap.)
Duties:
1. Cut wood
2. Fix or build new fence
3. Some construction tasks such as repair greenhouse, building new pole barns, Tiny House build, etc
4. Mowing / Brush hogging
5. Possible running equipment for road construction / maintenance on farm roads (Depending on your experience)
6. Painting barns
7. Checking cattle daily
8. Pond maintenance
9. We want to launch an AirBnb and are trying to get things setup for that. New Pond w/fish, access to a cave, want to setup a park like setting
10. Many, many other random tasks
This position would not be a routine, same tasks everyday deal. We would prefer someone that is of the diy mindset, jack of all trades type of person. We will assist on some projects, but mostly you would have a to-do list that you would manage on your own.
You will need reliable transportation to get to and from our property, this is a requirement.
We expect reliability - if your hours are set M-Thur 10 hours day, we will expect that schedule for a duration of time. Scheduled time off is no problem, if you are the type to call in often please dont apply.
You would also be working outside nearly everyday so dont apply if you are unable to handle cold and hot climate we have in Missouri.
About our place
It is mostly wooded, we are always clearing area to get more grass for our cattle. We have several ponds, creek, springs, cave on the land. Tons of wildlife as well. We are an offgrid farm, and we run a business that consumes most of our time and that is why we are at the point of needing a farm hand.
We are very flexible on hours, days. This needs to be a full time position. We are looking for long term employee so please dont apply if this is a summer time only deal for you. We will need this person year round. When hours are set, we ask for consistency and reliability on shifts set for work.
We are not offering housing at this time.
