Position Title: CNC Machine Operator
Wage: $17-$19/hour
Shift: 2nd; 3rd (Weekend)
Hours: 3pm-1:30pm Monday-Friday with occasional OT after shift and on Saturdays; 5am-5pm Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (work 36 hours but get paid for 40 hours)
QPS Employment Group is hiring a CNC Machine Operator in Springfield, MO. This is a contract to hire opportunity on 2nd or 3rd (weekend) shift.
CNC Machine Operator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences
- Mount, align, and secure tooling, attachments, and work piece on machine
- Upload and download program
- Calculate and set machine controls to position spindle in relationship to work piece and to regulate factors such as cutting depth, speed, feed, and coolant flow
- Start machine and monitor displays and machine operation to detect malfunctions
- Stop machine to change cutting tools and setup according to required machining sequence or to measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications
- Operate machine manually to perform no automated functions and when automatic programming is faulty or machine malfunctions
- Discuss control media errors with LOPL or programming personnel to resolve problems
- Inspect first run piece and spot check succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications
- Inspect and change tooling as required for continuous operation of machine
- Identify problems and work out solutions
CNC Machine Operator Requirements:
- Very physical and hot environment
- Must be skilled with programming and operating CNC machines
