Job Description:
A dynamic and growing company in the rail industry is seeking someone to join their team. This position requires the ability to set up the program and the tooling to form sheet metal parts. The person must be able to program and operate power and or hydraulic press brakes. Uses total length of brake to bend, notch, punch, form rolls, or straighten metal plates or sheet metal per blue prints or 3D model. Low volume, high product variation environment. Experience on other sheet metal equipment including a laser, shear, turret press, etc is a plus. Opportunities for advancement.
Shift and Hours: Availability on day shift and weekend shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate brake and set up Press Break.
Must be able to select, preset and install proper tooling and fixtures of press brakes.
Run first piece and assure conformance to drawing.
Monitor Press Brake production processes at appropriate intervals to insure continued part compliance.
Monitor production to ensure conformance with process sheet and time standards.
Monitor machine maintenance for lubrication, guarding and cleanliness.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Requires strong math skills including conversation of fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions.
Requires ability to visualize how to take a flat pattern and identify the sequence and settings required to program the machine to produce the finished part to print.
Requires basic understanding of 3D models.
Must have ability to use dial and Vermeer calipers as well as machinist squares and protractors.
Ability to fabricate tools for simple forms.
Education and Other Requirements:
Able to lift 70lbs or less.
Must pass drug screen.
Must be able to work in a team with others.
Must be able to follow instructions and take direction.
Working Conditions:
Must follow personal protective equipment policies.
Work in manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise and fumes.
Fast-paced environment with moving objects, sharp edges and congested work area.
Will be pushing, pulling, kneeling, reaching overhead, grasping and lifting up to 70 pounds.
