Production Supervisor /Coach/Trainer

Full Time with Benefits

7:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

The Supervisor/Coach/Trainer is responsible for supervising individuals with special needs; ensuring efficiency and effectiveness on the production floor.

Experience within a manufacturing/production or workshop facility preferred. Experience with individuals with special needs preferred. The supervisor must demonstrate the ability to coach and supervisor a small group of individuals with special needs.

Strong organizational, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail is required. The successful supervisor will take initiatives, must be able to effectively prioritize and multi-task in order to meet deadlines. Must be able to communicate both orally and in writing; and have the ability to interact successfully with individuals with special needs, and maintain confidentiality. Must have the ability to handle stressful situations. Must be able to type accurately and efficiently.

Must be able to pass a background check.

Set up and develop job assignments for proper execution.

Plan in advance, have the job set up before employees start to work. Plan ahead for smooth job changes. Coordinate work/training to fill in during slow times. Train employees on SWI policies and procedures.

Provide initial training and assistance to each employee so that he or she will have an opportunity to develop to their maximum potential. Delegate as much authority to employee level as possible in order to enhance individual development. Coach the employees in proper production methods and redirect as necessary.

Coach employees to develop safe work practices.

Advises the Director of Operations and Vocational Specialist on any employee issues that need to be documented or addressed. Initiate or participate in any needed disciplinary actions. Document any employees issues that need to be noted and kept in employee personnel file.

Continually coach and help employees to learn more jobs toward improvement for greater self-satisfaction. Coach the employees to learn proper and safe use and care of equipment.

Complete initial and annual employee evaluations in a complete, timely and correct manner.

Insure that quality control is maintained at all times to meet the minimum standards of the customer.

Perform and participate in valid time studies relating to the setting of industrial standards for all job types.

Monitor progress toward job completion to insure that work is completed on time (assign additional employees to the job order as necessary for timely completion, etc.)

Enter all required data into daily production sheets and log into computer. Execute necessary records as assigned.

Maintain appropriate documentation for employee pay.

Maintain a clean, orderly work area to promote safety and efficiency, participate in safety program.

Maintain a positive morale among employees.

Enforce SWI rules and regulations and act as a role model for employees by being conscientious about following all rules and guidelines personally.

Maintain a professional relationship with employees at all times.

Work in cooperation with other staff members.

Provide timely and daily necessary information to Director of Operations.

Perform all other reasonably related assigned tasks as necessary to fulfill the objectives of this position.

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Other duties as assigned.
