Job SummaryPerform diagnostic imaging procedures. Under direct or indirect supervision of a registered MRI technologist, performs diagnostic imaging procedures. Assume responsibility and maintains the general care and safety of patients during imaging procedures. Selects and appropriate surface coils and associated equipment in preparation for registered MRI technologist to perform study. Positions patient and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfortEssential Functions

Completes proper patient identification and order verification. Prepares patients for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and ensure patient safety.

Selects and operates magnetic resonance system, surface coils, physiologic gating devices and associated equipment to achieve desired results. Positions patient and equipment to best demonstrate the anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.

Utilize the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).

Maintains a clean work environment and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate department unit personnel. Apply principles of radiation safety and practices ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable).

Perform EHR clerical functions related to patient chart documentation. Start IV's

QualificationsRequired

Required High School Diploma

1 year of relevant experience must have completed the first year of an accredited imaging program Preferred

CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or

CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required
