Schweizer Orchards is searching for a delivery driver. During our busy summer and fall seasons, we ship our fruits and vegetables to grocery stores and other locations three or more times per week.
Delivery Driver Job Responsibilities:
Drive a semi-truck with a refer trailer to multiple stores in the Kansas City area and other locations
Delivers high-quality products to our customers in a safe, courteous, and timely manner.
Establishes and maintains outstanding relations with customers.
Reviews and verifies invoices to ensure accuracy.
Inspects delivery vehicles and ensures the safety and security of the loading and unloading process.
Contacts customers to confirm delivery details.
Follows safety and lifting protocols during deliveries and conducts safety reviews.
Maintains delivery logs and records.
This position is mostly seasonal - late June through November, but there will also be some opportunities for work at other times if available.
Delivery Driver Skills / Qualifications:
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
Familiarity with local streets, neighborhoods, and routes
Highly responsible & reliable
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
Must be able to use a pallet jack
Experience and Licensing Requirements:
Minimum 2 years experience driving semi-truck
Valid CDL driver’s license
Clean driving record
