Key Results Area:

Responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and insurance companies regarding medical billing inquiries. Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients, addressing their concerns and ensuring their satisfaction. This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule after 90 days of employment.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Answers telephone calls from patients and insurance companies in a timely and professional manner. Occasional phone contact with client or office manager. Research and resolve patient billing inquiries.

Maintain accurate and detailed records of all customer interactions, entering information into computer to prepare correspondence or other documents.

Processing credit card payments.

Opening mail and processing charity logs.

Checking patient logs against the system and making necessary changes.

Completing special projects that may be required.

Perform all appropriate duties and responsibilities as outlined in system user manual.

Responsible for understanding compliance issues and communicating concerns to manager or compliance committee.

Other duties as assigned.

Education:

High School Diploma/GED required. One year certificate from college or technical school preferred.

Experience:

Six months to one-year related customer service phone experience, preferably in a medical setting and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Previous medical billing experience is desired.

Required Skills:

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Must have analytical ability and be able to deal well with job related pressure and changes.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients. Strong written communication skills.

Must possess the ability to multi-task a variety of responsibilities.

Must have previous experience working with a high-volume of paperwork.

Knowledge of EOB's - Explanation of Benefits.

Excellent typing skills and data entry accuracy.

Ability to operate basic office equipment such as copier, fax, and calculator.
