We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Rural Carrier Associate to join our team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of mail and packages to rural areas. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to handle physical demands associated with the role.

VEHICLE and INSURANCE NEEDED (Gas will be provided): 120 Cubic feet Vehicle in order to maintain delivery preferences. Ex: Mini-van, Dodge Journey, Dodge Durango, Caravan, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep. - Applicants with a suitable vehicle please include this in your introduction message as you will be honored first. We are able to provide a vehicle but this will penalize monthly pay.

Straddle Delivery: Please research straddle delivery which is a very common practice in USPS delivery services which will only work if you can sit in the middle section of the front of your vehicle. If your vehicle fits the range above and you are able to straddle, this is a major advantage. If your vehicle will not allow you to straddle. Please understand their may be a need for "right hand vehicle conversion" to make the delivery process easier.

Duties

Deliver mail and packages along designated rural routes in a timely manner.

Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns from customers.

Operate various types of vehicles (mini-van, large SUV, or Equivalent) that provides 120 cubic feet of usable load space for mail and parcels.

perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure safe operation.

Load and unload mail and packages, ensuring proper handling to avoid damage.

Perform heavy lifting and moving of items as necessary during the delivery process.

Pick up or collect mail from customers

Work indoors and outdoors in all weather: rain, snow, cold and heat.

Maintain accurate records of deliveries and ensure all items are accounted for.

(If appicable) Utilize warehouse experience to manage inventory effectively when necessary.

Follow safety protocols while driving and handling materials.

Schedule: IMPORTANT (DO NOT APPLY IF you live more than 20 minutes away from the job location: It is currently peak season and some days may be heavy deliveries until January)

This job will require dedication to an on average 9 hour shift (Monday-Saturday "NO HOLIDAYS" with a floating Substitute assisting by working at-least 1 day per week). The full shift is based on how quick the carrier will learn USPS Mail Casing and Route Delivery skills. Shifts may range from 7:30am (Start) to 4:30-6pm (End). Again, this is an estimate and based on the carrier's learning curve.

Floating Substitute: The substitute will be on call in order to help the full time carrier with "off days". The payment and scheduling structure will be agreed upon between the full time carrier, the owner, and the substitute carrier.

- The full time carrier must be willing to work the first full month without a substitute in order to learn the route and be able to train the substitute once hired.

Experience

Previous experience with USPS Postal

Previous experience in customer service is essential for this role.

Warehouse experience is preferred, particularly in loading and unloading goods.

Commercial driving experience is a plus.

Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, with a focus on route driving skills.

Experience as a courier or in similar roles that require heavy lifting and moving tasks will be advantageous.

A valid driver's license with a CLEAN DRIVING RECORD is REQUIRED. Join our team as a Rural Carrier Associate and contribute to the essential service of connecting communities through reliable mail delivery.

Payment: This job will pay on the last Friday of every month due to it being a Government Contract (This can be negotiated)

Departure: To ensure a smooth transition and maintain operational continuity, employees are encouraged to provide at least two weeks' notice prior to resigning from their position. This notice allows the organization to make necessary arrangements and minimizes disruptions. While this practice is encouraged, it is not legally binding, and failure to provide such notice will not result in disciplinary action. We ask that the full time carrier agree to training for 3 days (for the new hire) as part of the transitioning out period. Thank you.
