About the Job

The purpose of the Category Manager role is to develop and implement sourcing strategies, manager supplier relationships, and optimize costs within specific categories to meet business objectives and driver overall procurement efficiency.

Optimize procurement performance by identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities across the assigned categories, negotiating favorable contracts, consolidating suppliers, and analysis of data & trends to deliver on business objectives.

Conduct thorough market research, analyzing spend data, and leveraging supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms. Monitor supplier performance to ensure cost efficiencies are sustained over time, track and report on savings achieved, and continually assess procurement strategies to align with the organization’s financial and operational goals.

Develop effective sourcing strategies around each category to drive cost efficiency, enhance supplier quality, and ensure long-term supply stability.

Collaborate closely with internal teams such as Operations, Finance, and Quality to align procurement strategies with broader business objectives, ensuring seamless cross-functional integration. Knowing your stakeholder’s “world” inside and out to deliver the best procurement support and expertise to the business.

Track and analyze key performance metrics related to supplier performance, cost savings, procurement efficiency, and compliance with quality standards. Measuring and managing supplier relationships and scorecards to drive transparent, healthy relationships and value.

Employees are expected to perform other responsibilities as needed.

Required Qualifications

Education: Four-year college degree or higher in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related field required.

Experience: At least 3-5 years of relevant experience is required.

Knowledge: Must have knowledge and experience across Procurement Processes and Strategic Sourcing methodologies.

Skills: Strong analytical thinking with the ability understand complex subjects required. Must have extensive negotiating skills. Must be able to solve problems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Behaviors: High level of attention to detail in every aspect of work.
