Position Overview To provide Leadership to the District’s Health Services Department.  Provide supervision to Registered Nurses, LPN’s, and Unlicensed assistive personnel: Support the day to day duties of all district health offices, including nonpublic areas. Communicate the requirements and needs of the health services program to the Director of Regional Operations. Establish, maintain and evaluate an effective and comprehensive school health plan as needed. Analyze the effectiveness of current school health programs and suggest improvements as necessary. Plans, coordinates, and evaluates clinical services to support consistent, timely student care across schools. Exercises professional judgment in coordinating individual health care plans, screenings, referrals, and communication with families and providers. Collaborates with IEP and 504 teams on health-related supports and accommodations. Manages health services supplies, nursing professional development, and routine expenditures within the approved departmental budget. Evaluates the effectiveness of school health services, identifies gaps, and recommends improvements. Health offices consistently implement district procedures and provide appropriate support for students with acute and chronic health needs. Safe Medication Management: Medications are administered and stored appropriately, inventories are accurate, and proactive coordination with families and providers ensures students have prescribed medications available during the school day.Individualized and Preventive Student Care: Students with identified medical concerns have current individual health care plans and, when applicable, Medical 504 Plans. Annual vision and hearing screenings are completed, and health-related supports are coordinated with IEP and 504 teams. Compliance and Accurate Health Records: Electronic health records, student health folders, and immunization documentation are accurate and current. Required regional and state reporting is completed, and health services adhere to applicable confidentiality and regulatory requirements. Effective Nursing Team Leadership: Nursing personnel receive clear work assignments, relevant training, and annual written performance evaluations informed by school leader feedback. Staff performance and service-delivery concerns are addressed to strengthen the quality and consistency of care across schools. Strong Family, School, and Community Coordination: Regular communication with families, providers, and school teams supports coordinated student care and timely referrals.
