Job Overview:
As a Chef at The Fabulous Fox Theatre, you will play a pivotal role in our culinary department, ensuring the delivery of exceptional dining experiences to our guests. You will oversee kitchen operations, manage a team of culinary professionals, plan menus, maintain inventory, and uphold the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
Duties:
- Coordinate and supervise food preparation activities, ensuring quality and consistency from prep to service. Collaborate on pricing strategies for menu items.
- Manage inventory stock including food, beverages, and kitchen supplies. Place orders and coordinate deliveries to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Delegate daily tasks to kitchen staff, including Sous Chefs, and provide guidance throughout the day. Supervise kitchen operations to ensure efficiency.
- Design plating and presentation techniques for dishes. Develop new recipes, craft menus including weekly specials, and stay updated on culinary trends.
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area and comply with food safety regulations.
Experience:
- Culinary Arts degree or equivalent certification required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar leadership role.
- American Culinary Federation certification and ServSafe certification preferred.
- Proficiency in culinary arts with knowledge of emerging food trends.
- Skilled in operating various kitchen equipment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead a team effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite for inventory management and recipe tracking.
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position that requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on show schedules.
Supervisory Responsibility:
You will oversee the culinary department staff in that department, managing their performance and recruitment processes.
