Applicants should have experience as a tree climber, tree trimmer, and/or arborist and have a background in tree service or forestry/conservation. Abasic-to-intermediate understanding and familiarity with the following concepts is required:Identification and Use of Climbing EquipmentGear InspectionHazard Risk AssessmentClimbing KnotsMethods for Ascending & DescendingClimbing Work PlansRope Installation and Tying-InIsolating a Throw LineSafe Climbing TechniquesWork PositioningLimb-WalkingFalse Crotch Installing & UseTechniques for Double-Crotching, Recrotching, and RedirectingTechniques for Lowering with Control LinesIdentification and Use of Rigging EquipmentRigging Forces, Hazards and KnotsResponsibilities include, but not limited to:Read and follow ANSI Z133 safety standards to the best of your abilityAssist supervisor and other active crew members in completing daily work-order assignmentsTrim and remove trees - all pruning methods to be performed in accordance with ANSI A300 Pruning standards.Install supplemental support systemsOperate and maintain equipmentComplete Clipper Tree/TCIA 5-day orientation programComplete Clipper Tree/TCIA 90-day performance training programThe following requirements will need to be met by any applicants:Experience 2-7 years as a full-time climberBasic understanding of ANSI A300 Standard (Part I Pruning)Familiarity with ANSI Z133 Safety StandardsAerial Rescue TechniquesRequired PPE for ClimbersElectrical Hazard AwarenessClass E or higher class CDLPre-employment drug screen and Social Security verificationISA Certified Arborist credential strongly preferred, but not required.
