JOB DESCRIPTION: Crew Leader is a hands-on position responsible for leading the efficient installation of high-quality residential and commercial landscape construction projects or property maintenance tasks. Essential Functions: - Direct the installation of residential and commercial landscape projects; which include the installation of plants, sod, shrubs, trees, mulch, soil, stone, landscape lighting, garden structures, and other landscape elements. - Leads crew members to maximize efficiency, productivity, and quality of the overall projects and maintenance tasks; which can include turf mowing and shrub trimming - Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks and trailers with tools, materials, and heavy equipment (skid steer, excavator, mini-skid steer) - Uses and operates hand tools and power tools (concrete saws, plate compactors, sod cutters, tillers, blowers, chain saws, etc.) safely. - Ensure tools, debris, and trash are picked up from the job site after each workday to keep the job tidy and safe - May be asked to help with snow removal in the winter months.
Requirements: Ability to have fun while learning new skills and working hard - Highly motivated, punctual, self-driven individual with a high level of integrity - Reliable transportation to and from work - Minimum Valid Class E driver license (Class A CDL Preferred) - Ability to learn how to safely operate commonly used hand tools and power tools - Ability to learn how to identify and plant perennials, shrubs, trees and evergreens - Strong English verbal & written communication skills - Available 40hrs per week. -
Must wear work boots, and pants - Must practice safety at all times - No smoking during working hours on job sites or in company vehicles - Must wear company-provided eye and ear protection as required - Must comply with safety policies and procedures - Able to work effectively with individuals of differing knowledge and background (i.e. coworkers, clients, contractors, vendors, designers).
Physical Demands: Full range of mobility in upper and lower body, overhead reaching, ability to work in various positions, including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods; lifting up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the workday; pulling and pushing materials and equipment. Working conditions: This position works outdoors in extreme weather conditions and climates. You will be exposed to dust, odors, and fumes regularly. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Compensation: Hourly pay starting at $20 - $30 per hour with time and a half pay after 40 hours. Performance bonuses are available.
