Adams & Martin Group is seeking a versatile In-House Attorney to support a small but dynamic legal department. This role blends legal expertise with operational management, requiring a unique combination of legal analysis and organizational skills. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about gaining exposure to various aspects of corporate law while developing proficiency in legal operations and departmental efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Legal Analysis & SupportReview, analyze, and draft agreements, identifying conflicts and making revisions during negotiations with customers, vendors, and suppliers.Conduct legal research on topics such as statutes, case law, and regulations.Analyze incoming legal matters (e.g., trademark renewals, litigation notices) and recommend appropriate actions.Assist with litigation management, including e-discovery, correspondence with outside counsel, and responses to discovery requests.Provide guidance on product development questions related to label claims, titles, and other legal considerations.Advise on corporate and product compliance, such as the Corporate Transparency Act, MoCRA, and Prop 65.Support due diligence efforts for potential acquisitions by evaluating legal risks and opportunities.Legal Operations ManagementManage the litigation tracker, coordinating with outside counsel to monitor and track ongoing matters.Oversee responses to indemnification requests from customers.Initiate and track litigation holds, ensuring compliance and conducting regular reviews.Collaborate with outside IP counsel to facilitate trademark renewals and specimen collection.Implement processes to streamline legal operations and enhance efficiency.Develop guidelines and best practices for legal and administrative procedures.Coordinate legal services requests across departments and maintain internal tracking systems.Project Management & CommunicationManage special projects from inception through completion, providing updates on progress.Track project status and report regularly to the Senior Attorney and Chief Legal Officer.Serve as the main point of contact for internal teams seeking legal support, triaging requests and providing initial guidance.Prepare and circulate updates on legal matters to the legal team and key stakeholders.Assist with the preparation of board materials, including documents and presentations for Board of Directors meetings.Professional DevelopmentProactively seek opportunities to expand legal knowledge and skills.Stay informed of relevant legal developments that impact the company's business.Gradually take on more complex legal responsibilities under the mentorship of senior attorneys.Qualifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.1-3 years of legal experience, ideally in a corporate or in-house setting.Active bar membership in Missouri or eligibility for reciprocal licensing.Strong academic background with excellent research and writing abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, legal research tools, and document management systems.Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively.Interest in legal operations and enhancing department efficiency.Preferred Qualifications:Undergraduate degree in business (e.g., accounting, business administration, marketing).Experience or familiarity with the manufacturing or private label industry.Knowledge of intellectual property law, especially trademark management.Experience with e-discovery tools and processes.Familiarity with legal operations best practices.Experience with due diligence in mergers and acquisitions.If you are interested in this role, please submit a Word document version of your updated resume for review.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
