Nania Construction is a full-service General Contractor completing a wide variety of Commercial and Residential Rehab and Remodeling Construction projects and we are looking to expand our field teams with 2-3 full-time Carpenters.

Nania Construction, LLC is a 12 year old, steadily growing General Contracting Construction company that partners with our clients to develop and renovate their residential and commercial properties to achieve their investment goals, serve their clients, customers, and business needs, or maximize rental property incomes or returns, or to simply increase personal or public enjoyment of their buildings and properties.

Job Summary:
The Carpenter is a key part of the fulfillment of the promises we make to our customers. The company’s brand, reputation and customer experience rely on the proper execution of the responsibilities of this role. A Carpenter in our company is held accountable for the following:
– Approximately 40 hours of work completed/produced on budget and on schedule per week.
– Maintaining a high 95%+ level of customer satisfaction with all interactions and completed works.
– Accurate Daily updates to all required administrative tracking and reporting systems.
– Regular and effective communications with Crew leaders, Project managers, and other Crew members.
– Utilizing training resources and on-the-job opportunities to continually grow skillsets and knowledge base.
Qualifications:
Valid Driver’s License
Completed apprenticeship and 1-2 years experience in framing and finish carpentry with established professional company, OR 4-5 years experience on-the-job training in new construction or remodeling carpentry with professional company producing high quality projects.
Available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Able to lift up to 80 lbs., climb ladders, and physically fit
Basic carpentry toolset hand tools and drills/drivers
Motivated and organized
Smartphone with ability to use multiple scheduling and project management apps, ability to take and send/receive pictures and text messages and emails.
Ability to act safely in an active and fast-paced environment
Thorough understanding of all basic residential and commercial framing and trim carpentry tasks, including both steel and wood wall framing, stair construction, window and door framing and installations, cabinet installation, millwork/trim installation and finishing, hardware and fixtures installations and assemblies.
Knowledge of Carpentry-relevant building codes and standards including stairs and railing constructions, wall framing, headers/girders/beams/floor joists, connections and fasteners sizing/usage and construction, trusses, sheathing, fireblocking and draftstopping, etc.
Knowledge of how to safely and correctly use all standard hand and power tools to complete all rough and finish carpentry projects including a wide variety of saws and nailers and drivers/drills.
Fundamental understanding of overall construction process, including forethought and planning for subtrades and finishes.
Thorough knowledge of all building assemblies and the problem-solving skills required to make educated decisions to complete construction of those assemblies within project requirements and design intent
Be able to read and interpret all project documentation provided by the Project Manager taking all requirements and limitations into consideration, ability to create layouts, materials takeoffs, and plan and execute completion of carpentry works from blueprints/drawings.
As a Carpenter with this Remodeling/Renovations company, it is also necessary for our carpenters to have some knowledge and experience and willingness to assist with and complete and learn/improve abilities in 2-3 of the following: Drywall patching/repair, Drywall Taping, Painting, Flooring installation, Tile installation, light plumbing(fixtures) installation, light electrical(fixtures) installation.
Must have a “CAN DO” attitude and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done. No “not my job” folks.
Key Responsibilities:
Be on time and produce 40 hours/week. This means not just being present on jobsite for 40 hrs, but earning 40 hours through completion of the work that needs to be done and as quickly as a competent carpenter should complete it in 40 hours of earnest effort. This can and is measured every project by professional budgeting of projects against industry averages and productivity of peers and co-workers, and then honest self-examination, goal-setting and reviews. Accurately log hours in the Time Tracking App daily.
Attend daily meetings with the Lead Carpenter and follow their instructions to complete daily tasks and meet daily and weekly goals.
Come to any/all meetings prepared and ready to participate. Take notes and work through a sequential list of tasks as set out by supervisors.
Follow instructions from the Lead Carpenter and Project Manager to complete daily tasks and meet deadlines.
Use and store materials properly to avoid waste, shortages, and damage and eliminate avoidable delays in projects.
Work as a team and/or individually in an efficient manner to ensure all tasks are being completed within the allotted time frame.
Provide the Lead Carpenter or Project Manager with daily updates regarding any customer interactions, when required.
Assist with material and/or tool pickups or drop-offs as required by sites.
Double-check all work with the Lead Carpenters or PMs to proactively prevent deficiencies.
Immediately address deficiencies to prevent production delays.
Report any damaged or lost/stolen tools to Project Leaders and/or Project Manager.
Help set jobsites up for opening/closing and/or adverse weather days or absence.
Always maintain jobsite appearance and street presence, with a priority on public safety and cleanliness. No Smoking on properties, jobsites kept and left clean and free of trash/debris at the end of each day, tools and materials organized ready for the next day.

Schedule:
-8-hour shifts Monday-Friday approx. 7-3 or 8-4 depending on project.
Experience:
-Construction: 2 years (required)
-Blueprint reading: 1 year (preferred)
-Licenses/Certification: Bonus
-OSHA 10 preferred or will provide training.
