Fleet Maintenance Lead – Preventative Maintenance (Trucks & Trailers)
About Us:
We are a small, fast-paced trucking company that values safety, reliability, and teamwork. We operate a fleet of 6 diesel trucks and dry van trailers, and we’re looking for a skilled Shop Lead to take charge of preventative maintenance and light repairs. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be turning wrenches while also organizing and leading the shop.
What You’ll Do:
Lead daily shop operations and set priorities for preventative maintenance and repairs.
Perform inspections, oil changes, brake work, tire checks, and general upkeep on diesel trucks and dry van trailers.
Troubleshoot minor mechanical and electrical issues; coordinate with vendors for larger repairs when needed.
Maintain maintenance schedules and service records for fleet compliance.
Manage shop supplies, tools, and parts inventory.
Work closely with operations and drivers to minimize downtime and keep trucks moving.
Ensure safety standards are followed at all times.
What We’re Looking For:
3+ years experience as a diesel mechanic (truck/trailer focus preferred).
Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance and DOT requirements.
Leadership ability — experience training or leading others is a plus.
Organized, dependable, and safety-minded.
Ability to work independently and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
