THE COMPANY
The Housing Authority of Billings is a public non-profit organization dedicated to providing safe, decent and affordable housing to individuals and families in Billings, MT, and within a 10-mile radius of Billings city limits. Currently, the Housing Authority of Billings owns and/or manages over 400 housing units and administers rental subsidy for over 1000 units throughout the community.
THE POSITION
Were hiring for a full-time Eligibility Specialist to manage the eligibility process for Public Housing, Tax Credit, HOME, Project Based Section 8, and market rent properties, from application to unit offer. This position will also be responsible for the coordination and implementation of the waiting lists for all programs offered by the Housing Authority of Billings. Starting salary is $40,000 per year.
REQUIREMENTS
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Strong communication skills to relate with referral agencies, landlords, professional references, and customers.
3. Good writing, spelling, verbal, and organizational skills.
4. Effective computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
5. Word processing and data entry experience.
6. Familiarity with copiers, multi-line telephone systems, fax machines, and scanners.
7. Evidence of strong interpersonal skills with co-workers and the public.
8. Excellent customer service skills.
9. Experience working in a detail-oriented office environment with a large amount of paper flow, ability to meet deadlines, with strong time management skills.
10. Minimum one-year of leasing experience.
11. Valid drivers license.
12. Ability to obtain the following certifications within one year of employment: CPO for Multi-Family, PH for Public Housing, Tax Credit Certification and HOME.
